Fuel System Diagnostics - Common rail diesel fuel systems (hdi, dci, tdci, cdi, etc.) on modern vehicles operate with very high system pressures (often in excess of 1600 bar / 23,000 psi). Although the systems are very reliable, when faults do occur they are often as a result of loss of pressure due to internal leaks or wear causing excessive fuel back leakage in system components.
To diagnose such faults we have equipment that allows measurement of pressures in both high & low pressure systems as well as fuel back leakage measurements from injectors & the high pressure pump. These tests are carried out on the engine saving time & expense. Should results be inconclusive we have facilities for in depth testing of common rail injectors and high pressure pumps off engine against manufacturers’ test specifications.
